The NASW Code of Ethics exists to provide guidance in professional decision making & conduct, but what about the gray areas? Dual relationships among social workers and clients remains one of the most challenging gray areas within the social work practice Establishing and maintaining boundaries is a vital component in sustaining ethical practice.

Course Objectives:

1. Identify common boundary issues within the Social Work Profession.

2. Distinguish the difference between boundary crossings and boundary violations.

3. Examine the gray areas experienced in practice & discuss best practice strategies to establish and maintain ethical boundaries.

Upon successful completion, this course provides 3 hours of continuing education.
